The program consists of engaging materials and stimulating activities.
Your child will enjoy reading more, and will have the reading skills and
confidence needed for success in school.

The instruction, or lessons, incorporate commercial reading programs that are
based on scientific research and are tailored to meet the needs of each
student.

A typical tutoring session is 60 minutes and will include systematic and direct
teaching instruction in:

*Phonemic awareness
*Phonics
*Structured reading or connected text
*Fluency building
*Vocabulary development
*Comprehension
*Writing and spelling skills

Multi-Sensory

The multi-sensory curriculum incorporates four learning pathways,
which are:

  Auditory
Listening to stories and sounds.
Techniques that focus on sound
and stimulate verbal reasoning,
such as books on tape, rhymes,
charts, and language games
Kinesthetic
The use of body movements,
such as clapping out the number
of syllables in a word, writing,
and drawing
  Visual
To learn things by seeing them,
using pictures, charts,
highlighters, and color-coded
words
Tactical
Uses the sense of touch, such as
sand trays, raised lined paper,
and textured objects

Assessment

Progress is monitored during each session. In most cases, formal
diagnostic assessments will not be necessary to plan interventions.

Formal and informal tests and analysis of student performance will provide
essential information for planning instruction.

Benefits

Your child will read independently in some of the best books ever written
for young readers.

The books are at the right level of difficulty, and the teacher will provide
the support and encouragement to ensure that your child experiences
success.

Your child will come away from the program more fluent, confident, and
motivated to learn.
